GoodVisionGlasses is a brand name of a German Non-Profit organization, registered in

Malawi as OneDollarGlasses Ltd. and is CONGOMA certified. Our goal is to ensure primary eye-care for all Malawians in need including free eye-screening, high quality glasses and referral to an eye clinic or ophthalmologist if an eye test confirms a suspected eye condition.

To accomplish its mission, Good Vision Glasses is inviting applications to fill the position of a Data Administrator.

Position Description

GoodVision Malawi is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in data management and analysis, with proficiency in Excel and Power BI. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of our data, as well as interpreting data to support decision-making processes

Position responsibilities will include:

• Data Management:

The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and quality, and developing and implementing data management procedures and policies.

• Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze data using Excel, create visualizations with Power BI, and interpret data to identify trends and insights, providing actionable recommendations to the supervisory team.

• Quality Control:

Ensure data quality by conducting regular checks and audits, resolving discrepancies and errors, and implementing data cleansing and validation techniques to maintain data accuracy and integrity. Additionally, ensure the IT equipment is used properly and properly maintained.

• Support and Collaboration:

Collaborate with departments to understand their data needs, provide support and training to team members, and assist in the development and implementation of data-related projects to drive business outcomes.

• Vehicle Reports:

Provide weekly reports on vehicle tracking devices of outreach teams providing analysis and an overview of activities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data administration, data analysis, or a related role.

Technical Skills:

•  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
•  Strong experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Familiarity with data quality control techniques and tools.

Soft Skills: 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•  Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with other data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau).
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience in a similar industry or sector.
