JOB VACANCY – CLINICAL OFFICER

 Position           : Clinical Officer

Location          : Estates  in Mulanje & Thyolo

Start Date        : July 2024

General Description of the Role

Working in a Tea Estate Clinic, the Clinical Officer will report to the In Charge. He/she  provides direct patient care and is licensed to perform general medical duties such as diagnosis and treatment of diseases, ordering and interpreting medical tests, performing routine medical procedures and referring patients to the District Hospital when necessary.

Key requirements include

  1. Taking overall responsibility in managing clients/patients who are seeking medical attention.
  2. Attending OPD cases including all other required services at Health Centre level.
  3. Sending quarterly report to ministry of health
  4. Work without major supervision
  5. Able to work even during odd hours
  6. Must have decision making skill and proactive mind set.
  7. Ensure all company policies and applicable Accreditation Standards are scrupulously maintained.

Qualifications and Key prerequisites

  1. Education: Minimum diploma in clinical medicine from a recognized institution.
  2. Registered with Medical Council of Malawi
  3. ART certification by Ministry of Health is preferred and minimum of two years’ experience in HIV and ART patient management
  4. Experience: At least not less than five years of working experience from a busy hospital/health center.
  5. Motorcycle driving license preferred.
  6. Be ready to work odd hours including Saturdays.
  7. Team: Proven ability to manage a team and able to train employees in the field.
  8. Communications: Fluent in English and Chichewa including writing and reading, sober, mature and responsible.
  9. Organization: Able to work even during odd hours, excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.
  10. Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and e-mail knowledge.
  11. Must be an individual of high Ethical standards, Honest and Well motivated who can work with minimum supervision.
  12. Need to have at least three traceable referees.
