CLINICAL OFFICERS (2)

REPORTING TO                    : HEAD OF CLINICAL DEPARTMENT

LOCATION                           : DAEYANG LUKE HOSPITAL, LILONGWE

 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT    : TWO YEAR

 GRADE                                 : K

SALARY                                : CHAM SCALE

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive patient health management and care (i.e., history taking, physical examination, treatment and follow-up)
  • Institute appropriate investigative procedures/tests and treatment for clients and patients accordingly.
  • Conducting minor and selected major procedures.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with other health workers in patient care.
  • Ensure prudent and appropriate use and prescription of drugs and medical supplies.
  • Conduct proper consultation for selected patients/clients for review by senior medical officer.
  • Prepare work schedule as guided by the Head of Clinical department.
  • Be on-call as needed or required.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds.
  • Actively engage in regular continuous professional development activities as required.
  • Any other clinical duties as may be assigned by the Head of Clinical department from time to time.

 Educational qualifications, experience and attributes.

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine with at least 2-3 years’ experience in a busy health facility.
  • Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
  • Contract is renewable depending on satisfactory performance.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY/SKILLS

  • Well conversant with the health system in Malawi
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem identification and solving skills
  • Willingness to abide by the vision and core values of the hospital.
