Development Aid from People to People (DAPP)

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:  ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Location: DAPP Clothes and Shoes Project – Maselema Offices
Reporting To: Finance Manager

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Accounts Assistant tenable at the DAPP Clothes and Shoes Project. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure the timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out correct posting of project expenditures by Tuesday, after a week in which the transaction occurred in Pastel Partner.
  • Prepare monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations by the 7th of every month and submit to the Finance Manager for approval by the 10thof the month.
  • Timely preparation of receivables and payables reconciliations and where necessary ensure settlement of the balances within the month
  • Maintaining fixed asset register
  • Posting Sales in Pastel Partner every Tuesday after a week in which the sales occurred.
  • Balancing and Posting all Payroll related journals in the system.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
