Position: Accounts Assistant

Location: Blantyre

About the Client:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to work on behalf of our Client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and possess advanced skills in MS Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain and update financial records using advanced Excel functions and tools.
  • Perform data analysis and compile financial information for decision-making.
  • Utilize VLOOKUP and other functions to manage and organize large sets of data.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and assist with audits as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Practical knowledge of SPSS, Excel, Power BI, data visualization tools, and survey software.
  • Experience with presentation tools to deliver clear and impactful findings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
