BACKGROUND

Our client, a leading Holding company, is seeking an energetic, aggressive, self-motivated and result oriented individual to join its team in the position mentioned below to work under its Finance Department.

ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Developing, enhancing and complying with all company accounting and financial regulations.
  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data for all Bespat Holdings Limited entities.
  • Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements for each entity and come up with a monthly consolidated financial statement.
  • Presenting financial data to the Managing Director and Heads of Bespat Entities for informed decision making.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
  • Computing taxes, submission of periodic tax returns and ensure the company is in full compliance with the MRA requirements.
  • Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
  • Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track company performance on MoM and YoY so that the business leadership can make informed decisions and come up with the right interventions.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related fieldobtained from a recognized reputable learning institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). Those with higher qualifications will have an added advantage
  • Fully qualified ICAM member (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi) or equivalent qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA)
  • 5+ years proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, Tally and other financial systems
  • Ethical behavior.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player
