ACG has been engaged to recruit on behalf of its client, Namitunda Farm, located in Mangochi (Namwera), for the following position:
Position: Abattoir Senior Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the abattoir, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and quality standards
- Coordinate slaughtering activities, meat inspection, packaging, and dispatch processes
- Ensure compliance with veterinary, food safety, public health, and environmental regulations
- Supervise abattoir staff, including shift planning, performance monitoring, and discipline
- Monitor inventory levels of consumables and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and statutory documentation
- Liaise with veterinary officers and relevant regulatory authorities
- Enforce proper waste management practices and environmental compliance

- Strong technical knowledge of abattoir operations and food safety protocols
- Proven leadership and team supervision capabilities
- Excellent organisational, reporting, and record-keeping skills
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control
- Ability to enforce standards and compliance in a high-pressure environment
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of a Diploma in Animal Health, Meat Technology, or a related field
- At least three (3) years’ supervisory experience in an abattoir or meat processing environment
- Sound knowledge of hygiene standards and slaughterhouse legislation
- Certification in meat inspection or food safety will be an added advantage
