Production Shift Supervisor

ADMARC Limited is a Limited Liability Company incorporated under the Companies Act of Malawi, with the Government of Malawi as the major shareholder, holding up to 99% of the shares. The company is engaged in agricultural marketing.
ADMARC Limited is seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions:

JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Grade: AL 6
Location: Various factories/Ginneries
Contract terms : 6 months fixed
Reporting to : Factory Supervisor

Purpose Of The Job

To supervise and coordinate production activities during an assigned shift, ensuring efficient operation of production equipment, achievement of production targets, adherence to quality and safety standards, and optimal utilisation of human and other production resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervising and coordinating production activities during the assigned shift.
2. Ensuring that production machinery and equipment are operated efficiently and in accordance with established operating procedures.
3. Monitoring production processes to ensure that daily production targets and quality standards are achieved.
4. Allocating duties and providing guidance and supervision to Machine Operators, casual workers and other employees under the shift.
5. Monitoring the performance of production equipment and promptly reporting breakdowns, defects and other operational challenges to the Factory Supervisor.
6. Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, factory procedures and other applicable production standards.
7. Ensuring that the production area, machinery and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
8. Coordinating with the maintenance team to facilitate timely corrective and preventive maintenance of production equipment.
9. Monitoring the utilisation of production materials and other resources to minimise wastage and enhance operational efficiency.
10. Maintaining accurate production records and preparing periodic shift production reports.
11. Conducting shift handovers and communicating relevant production information, equipment status and operational issues to the incoming shift.
12. Identifying and reporting operational challenges affecting production and recommending appropriate corrective measures.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
• MSCE or equivalent qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in a production, manufacturing, factory or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of production processes, machinery operation and basic maintenance practices will be an added advantage.
• Supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
