The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Malawi. Its core business is to procure, transmit and distribute electric power as well as manage System Market Operations in Malawi. ESCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions currently existing within the Corporation:

ENUMERATORS  – 145 POSITIONS
Grade: ES13
Location: Regional Offices (South, Central & North)
Supervised by : Regional Coordinators
Duration: 5 months

Purpose of the job

To collect, verify, and update accurate electricity distribution network data in the field to support network planning, asset management, system maintenance, and operational efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Collect accurate data on LV network infrastructure (poles, transformers, cables, meters, etc.)
  2. Record details on asset condition, age, and maintenance needs.
  3. Verify GPS coordinates of assets and ensure proper georeferencing.
  4. Survey LV network routes and map key assets (transformers, meters, junctions)
  5. Maintain daily logs of activities, locations, and data collected
  6. Provide feedback on challenges or obstacles faced during data collection

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Certificate in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
