Unitrans Malawi Limited, a prominent employer in the sugar and agriculture sector wants to recruit a suitably qualified persons of Malawian origin to fill the above posts which have fallen vacant at its Dwangwa Depot in Nkhota-kota.

SKILLED PANEL BEATER AND SPRAY PAINTER

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for: –

  • Repairing, panel beating or replacing and spray-painting damaged areas to panels of vehicles and plant panel covers.
  • Preparing surfaces by sanding/cleaning and applying undercoats/final coats with a brush and/or roller.
  • Applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures
  • Filling nail holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other filler.
  • Selecting premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours.
  • Complying and maintaining safety and health requirements at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Grade 1 National Trade Test Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Panel Beating and or Spray Painting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • Minimum of three years hands on experience in a similar position in a busy organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in shifts and with little supervision.
  • Able to work in shifts and with little or no supervision;
