Job Description
The PACS Graduate in Training (GIT) is a developmental role designed to provide broad, practical exposure across the full Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) portfolio. The PACS Graduate in Training will support key PACS initiatives while building knowledge and experience across public affairs, stakeholder engagement, communications, sustainability, regulatory affairs, research and reporting through structured learning, mentorship and hands-on project exposure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support PACS Strategy Execution:
    • Support the implementation of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) initiatives.
  • Public Affairs:
    • Provide support on government and regulatory engagements, policy and legislative monitoring, stakeholder mapping, industry associations and issues management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Assist in coordinating engagements with internal and external stakeholders, including communities, NGOs, government bodies and other partners.
  • Communications & Advocacy:
    • Support the development of communication materials, presentations and stakeholder messaging aligned to PACS priorities.
  • Sustainability Programme Support:
    • Assist with the planning, coordination and monitoring of sustainability projects including waste collection and recycling, water, and economic inclusion of people with woman, youth and people with disabilities.
  • Regulatory Affairs support:
    • monitoring regulatory developments, coordinating compliance activities, engaging key stakeholders, and providing research and reporting support to maintain constructive relationships with regulatory authorities.
  • Research & Insights:
    • Conduct research and gather insights on social, regulatory and stakeholder matters to support decision-making.
  • Reporting & Administration:
    • Support the preparation of reports, trackers and presentations while maintaining accurate documentation of PACS activities.
  • Learning & Development:
    • Actively build knowledge and exposure across the PACS function through assigned projects, mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.

Education

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences or related discipline.

Experience

  • Graduate or candidate with up to 1-2 years of relevant experience, internships or project exposure.
  • Understanding of Malawi’s regulatory, political, economic or social environment.
  • Experience supporting events, campaigns, community projects and stakeholder engagements.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and visualization.
