COTTON COUNCIL OF MALAWI was established by the Cotton Act of 2013 with the mandate to regulate, develop and improve the cotton industry in Malawi.

The Vision of CCM is to become a progressive regulator effectively contributing to the development of a sustainable cotton industry.

The Mission of the council is to contribute to the growth of the cotton industry through development of standard and regulations, ensuring adherence to have trade practices by value chain players, promotion of sustainable innovation and information sharing including competent and committed workforce.

CCM wishes to recruit suitable qualified, experienced and dedicated individuals to fill the following posts:

POSITION:

Job Title: Driver (1)
Duty Station: Balaka Office
Reporting: Assistant Administration Officer

Purpose of the position

To drive the Council’s vehicles in transporting CCM staff, visitors, documents and goods in accordance with CCM policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that vehicles are kept clean all the time
  • Transporting members of staff and visitors as assigned.
  • Dellvering mail, packages trom/to various stakeholders including loading and offloading official items/goods
  • Maintaining minor vehicle faults and reporting of faults
  • Reporting vehicle accidents to police and relevant authorities
  • Carrying out routine checks on motor vehicles condition
  • Check and advise on vehicle roadworthiness and insurance validation.

Qualifications and experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • Valid Driving License with P and or G categories
  • A minimum of five years’ driving experience

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Basic knowledge of motor vehicles
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and during odd
  • Ability to function in a team
  • Must not exceed 40 years of age
