JCM operates over 200MW of high-quality wind and solar assets and delivered the first utility-scale grid connected solar plus energy storage project in Sub-Saharan Africa, located in Malawi. JCM intends to develop and execute a pipeline of wind, solar and energy storage projects in Asia and Africa.
JOB SUMMARY:
JCM is seeking to hire a Temporary Senior Accountant on a fixed contract for 3 months, based in Lilongwe, Malawi, reporting to the Country Manager – Malawi to assist with finance accounting functions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
- Analyze budget vs actual performance
- Forecasting of P&L & Cashflow
Accounts Payable:
- Manage Accounts payable function
- Review invoice approval system and ensure timely payments
Financial Reporting & Audit:
- Manage financial statements audit
- Lead financial reporting
- Ensure IFRS compliance
Taxation & Compliance:
- Oversee taxation function
- Management of tax risks
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- 5 – 10 years of accounting experience in a senior capacity with practical experience.
- Preferably from a freelancing background or from an accounting firm, looking for an immediate opportunity.
- Practical experience operating in a fast-paced global environment, energy or related industry preferred.
- A trusted professional who can operate in an environment of the highest standard of ethics and transparency environment
- Knowledge in SAP, QuickBooks, CaseWare, and ERP, and should have strong capability in Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to deliver on commitment with high-quality results in a timely manner.
