Position: University Registrar
Location: Montfort Campus, Chiradzulu
Reporting Relationship : The Vice Chancellor
Contract Duration: 3 Years (subject to renewal)
The Catholic University of Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of University Registrar tenable at Montfort Campus in Nguludi.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide managerial and administrative support to the office of the Vice Chancellor through policy development, interpretation and implementation;
- Supervise administrative and human resource management activities including the recruitment and induction of staff, updating of staff records, staff performance management, and staff development;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the provision of quality services such as electricity, internet, water and sanitation, accommodation, transport, and sports and recreation, ensuring that the university campus and its facilities are always in a state of good repair;
- Provide quality student services including admission and registration, maintenance and updating of student records, issuing of transcripts and such documents as may be required by stakeholders;
- Act as Secretary for Management, Senate, and the Appointments and Disciplinary Committee of Council, ensuring that their proper records are kept;
- Lead the organisation of University functions such as Graduation Ceremonies, General Assemblies, and staff meetings;
- Prepare annual reports relating to the operations of the University and submit them to relevant regulatory bodies;
- Keep custody of the Common Seal of the University.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A Master’s Degree in an administration-related field from a recognised institution; a PhD will be an added advantage;
- At least three years of experience in the administration of a complex and busy institution;
- Excellent communication, ICT, analytical, team work, time management, and problem-solving skills
