Umodzi Holdings Limited (UHL) is a prestigious domestic brand under the name ‘Umodzi Park and Resorts’ (UPR), situated in the heart of Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe. UHL is a 100% Government-owned company that boasts properties like the Bing International Convention Centre (BIC), a five-star hotel, and the Presidential Village, which offers world-class accommodation and office rental facilities.
UHL seeks to urgently engage energetic, result oriented, suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions tenable in Lilongwe;
Job Title: Food & Beverage Controller (Grade UHL7)
Reporting to: Management Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control Food and Beverage Cost of Sales across all outlets, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with approved financial standards
- Oversee and validate all food and beverage stock counts, inventory reconciliations, and variance investigations using approved materials control systems.
- Prepare and distribute timely and accurate cost reports, variance analyses, and outlet summaries to support management decision-making
- Maintain the integrity of cost, inventory, and revenue systems by validating recipes, pricing, consumption data, and system outputs in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Support menu engineering, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives while upholding strong internal controls, financial discipline, and hotel policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Management, Hospitality Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ proven experience in Food and Beverage cost control or inventory management within a hotel, resort, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong working knowledge of food and beverage cost accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with hotel inventory, materials control, and POS systems.
- Strong analytical, reconcillation, and reporting skills
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a tast-paced hospitality environment.
