Job Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and efficient use of resources. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance planning to support production targets and operational efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning and Control
- Develop detailed maintenance plans, including resource allocation and logistics, to ensure efficient execution.
- Monitor and adjust maintenance activities in real-time, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement and manage root cause analysis (5 Whys, FFA) to address equipment failures and improve processes.
- Regularly review and update maintenance documentation, and conduct effective technical and team meetings.
Implementing Engineering Change Management
- Initiate and verify engineering changes ERP, ensuring detailed designs are authorized and implemented.
- Update documentation and close change requests efficiently, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
Maintenance Programme Development
- Develop and deliver safety awareness and compliance training, ensuring effective PPE use and incident management.
- Facilitate risk management processes and report safety incidents as required, ensuring timely closure.
Breakdown Management
- Verify and reconcile breakdown information, ensuring follow-on work is agreed upon and corrective maintenance tasks are raised.
- Close breakdown orders efficiently, ensuring all relevant data is accurately recorded.
Manage the Maintenance Spares
- Plan for and manage spares inventory, ensuring availability and alignment with upcoming promotions or trials.
- Train team members on new processes and technologies, and facilitate problem-solving and productivity improvements.
Skills, Experience & Education
Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop detailed, resource-efficient maintenance plans.
- Ability to regularly review, update, and manage maintenance documentation.
- Engineering Change Management:
- Ability to initiate and verify engineering changes in ERP systems, ensuring detailed designs are authorized and implemented.
- Ability to verify and reconcile breakdown information accurately and raise corrective maintenance tasks.
- Ability to plan for and manage spares inventory, ensuring availability for upcoming needs.

Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years engineering experience
- Knowledge of Packaging plant will be an advantage
- PC literate ERP (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications)
- Proven experience in developing detailed maintenance plans, resource allocation, and logistics.
