Job Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Branch Manager is responsible for the end-to-end leadership of a full-service retail branch. This role drives sustainable growth in deposits and loans, ensures exceptional client service, and fosters a high-performance culture rooted in integrity, teamwork, and VisionFund’s mission. The Branch Manager is accountable for achieving financial, portfolio, and operational targets while maintaining the highest standards of risk management, compliance, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, coach, motivate, and supervise all branch staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear, measurable goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven work environment that promotes accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
Client Service & Community Engagement
- Ensure every client interaction reflects VisionFund’s values of dignity, respect, and care.
- Proactively resolve complaints and manage sensitive customer situations with empathy and fairness.
- Represent the branch in the local community, building trust, goodwill, and strategic partnerships.
Sales, Business Growth & Portfolio Quality
- Drive new business acquisition, client retention, and cross-selling of deposit and loan products
- Oversee credit committee processes within delegated authority, ensuring rigorous analysis and sound lending decisions for both group and individual clients.
- Monitor portfolio performance daily, ensuring strong repayment rates and early intervention on delinquencies.
Operations, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure strict adherence to VisionFund policies, RBM regulations, AML guidelines, and internal controls
- Maintain accurate, timely reporting and safeguard branch assets through robust security and audit protocols.
- Collaborate with ICT and other departments to ensure seamless technology and operational support.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Develop and manage the branch budget, controlling costs and explaining variances.
- Prepare and submit accurate operational, financial, and regulatory reports on schedule.
- Oversee branch facilities, layout, and resource planning to support efficient service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA an added advantage).
- Experience – At least 5 years in microfinance or banking operations, with proven experience in credit analysis, loan approval, and team leadership.
- Technical Skills – Strong financial analysis capabilities; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and T24/MCB: experience with microfinance software preferred.
- Leadership – Demonstrated ability to coach, inspire, and hold teams accountable in a values-based organization.
