Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and competent individuals for the post of Bureau Manager at Centenary Bank.
Job Purpose
To provide leadership and strategic direction to the overall business of the Bureau de change. To generate revenues through sales of foreign currency cash by buying from the open market, diaspora and making sure that transactions are done at a reasonable margin. To control and manage the Bureau’s budget. Effectively manage Bureau staff and put in place succession planning.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & customer relation management
- Build and maintain sound relationships with regulators, customers and other stakeholders with a view to improve the image of the bureau.
- Develop customer retention and satisfaction strategies that would culminate into increased business volumes and repeat business from customers.
- Ensure that the Bureau is visible and accessible to customers.
- Ensure that the Bureau’s branch Licences are renewed timely
- Ensure that all RBM returns are submitted timely Making sure that all customers are visited at regular intervals.
- Ensure that relevant fees and commissions are charged and collected on time.
- Create a direct interface with customers in order to attract repeat business from them.
- Formulate products that would attract customers and grow revenues for the bureau.
Judgment and Complexity
- Must be able to analyze the market trends and best practices on the market.
- Must be able to react decisively to market information affecting clients in the portfolio. In particular, the identification of potential and areas of general weaknesses that require addressing.
- Must be able to identify opportunities and develop market oriented and innovative products.
Authority
- Full freedom to counsel and discipline staff within his/her area of jurisdiction and bank wide.
- To approve operational expenditures within the delegated limits, subject to overall budgetary guidelines.
- Full freedom to exercise discretionary powers commensurate with the position and the responsibilities attached.
- Member of disciplinary committee for the bank Supervision and staff management
- Provide effective leadership to staff under direct supervision (i.e. Tellers and Bureau Supervisors.)
- Full freedom to exercise discretionary powers commensurate with the position and the responsibilities attached to it.
- Resources management (finances and or assets)
- Efficiently manage resources under exposure
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Banking and Investments Management, Business Administration or related field.
Experience, and Skills
- 3 years Banking experience at management level experience in a busy organization preferably in the financial services sector.
- Experience and/ or proven track record in relationship-marketing and business development as well as portfolio management.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Experience in team building, training and motivation Keen business acumen – financial analysis, investments management, product development and pricing, valuation, asset-liability management, balance sheet management
- Sound understanding of policies and procedures.
- Ability to systematically apply all risk analysis parameters Sound business analytical skills;
- Good negotiation and selling skills.
- Must be familiar with all directives from RBM that relate to operations of the FX Bureaus.
