Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of 3 million children who today will receive a Mary’s Meals meal. Mary’s Meals Malawi is our largest school feeding programme, and we work closely with schools and community volunteers who help prepare and serve the nutritious meals every school day.
Marys Meals Malawi is looking to recruit energetic and motivated individuals for the position of:
Sponsor a School and Communications Officer – (Permanent Position based in Blantyre)
Job purpose
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the SAS and Communications Officer is responsible for the smooth running of the Sponsor a school programme and supporting of the Communications and Strategic partnerships functions of the Malawi Program.
Requirements
- A Diploma in communication studies, social work, Education or relevant field from a recognisable institution.
- Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Practical experience of report writing and photography.
- Excellent team-work skills.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- A “can do” attitude with a proven ability to work to schedules and meet deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze large volumes of diverse data.
- Above average knowledge of Microsoft packages especially Excel and Word
- Energy and self-motivation – comfortable interacting with primary-school learners
- Outstanding ability to self-organize
- Proven experience working within an NGO setting.
- Possess a valid driving licence and ability to drive a 4X4 manual vehicle.
