HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sustainable growth in the retail assets under management and revenues through strategic client acquisition, relationship management and product positioning in line with set targets

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulates and implements a business strategy and annual investment management operating plan for the Retail Business section, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identifies and capitalizes on high-yield investment opportunities, maintaining appropriate risk-adjusted returns
  • Develops investment policies that optimize profit margins and enhance overall portfolio performance.
  • Develops and manage the financial budget for the investment department, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, including pension funds, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate clients.
  • Develop a strategic pipeline and strategies for closing deals with private wealth clients, corporate clients and other individual clients.
  • Lead system enhancements to support scaling— digital onboarding, secure data sharing, diaspora onboarding tools, and offshore transaction processing
  • Develop innovative investment products and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends and new investment opportunities.
  • Provides input to the company’s marketing strategies to support business growth and promote brand to Group marketing team
  • Maintain an Business Development & Portfolio Management dashboard for management reporting, including inflows, outflows, errors, turnaround times, and pending items.
  • Performing and overseeing daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of fixed deposits, investment accounts, nominees and custody records.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the Retail investment portfolios

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Business Development, Relationship Management or investment administration within an asset management, banking or financial services environment with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of asset management products, wholesale and retail investment structures, and nominees’ operations
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management experience at a senior level.
