Project Officer- LTK Scale up

Save the Children

The Opportunity

Save the Children (SC) is seeking a Project Officer – LTK Scale-Up to support implementation of the FutureGuard: GCF–JNF Climate-Resilient Children’s Health Initiative under the Green Climate Fund (GCF)-funded Climate Resilient Health and Well-Being for Rural Communities (CHWBRC) Programme (2025–2029). Save the Children Malawi is a co-executing agency of the programme, working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Education (MoE), and district-level stakeholders across southern Malawi.

FutureGuard focuses on scaling up the Learner Treatment Kit (LTK) in schools, strengthening Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) for under-five children, and expanding digital health systems (ICHIS) to improve climate-informed disease surveillance, service delivery, and continuity of care. The initiative aims to reduce climate-related disease risks and improve access to timely, quality health services for children in vulnerable rural communities.

The Project Officer – LTK Scale-Up will support school-level implementation of the LTK component across Balaka, Ntcheu, Mangochi, Zomba, Phalombe, and Machinga districts. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role will focus on coordination with district education and health offices, mentoring teachers trained as LTK dispensers, strengthening linkages between schools and health facilities, and ensuring quality, safeguarding, and reporting standards are met. The role will also support the institutionalisation of LTK by working closely with MoH, MoE, the National Malaria Control Programme, and implementing partners to advance the national LTK scale-up plan.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
