POSITION: PRINCIPAL
LOCATION: LILONGWE
1. Role Summary
The Principal serves as the chief educational administrator of the School, responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and overall performance of all academic programmes. The Principal reports to the Managing Director and is accountable to the Board.
- Key Responsibilities
A. Leadership & Vision
- Provide strategic direction and foster a shared vision for teaching, learning, and school improvement.
- Sustain a professional culture that promotes excellence, integrity, and staff development.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
B. Academic Management
- Oversee curriculum implementation, teaching quality, assessment standards, and academic performance.
- Recruit and develop qualified teaching and support staff.
- Monitor instructional methodologies and ensure alignment with CAIE standards.
- Implement programmes that evaluate and strengthen learner achievement.
- Support learners through guidance, behaviour management, and academic interventions.
C. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with parents, staff, community partners, and educational institutions.
- Communicate effectively on school policies, learner progress, and academic initiatives.
- Promote social responsibility, community engagement, and cultural enrichment activities.
D. Operational Oversight
- Manage academic operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee updates to learning materials, library resources, and academic facilities.
- Strengthen accountability systems for educational resources and schoolbooks.
- Promote participation in extracurricular activities across all learners.
E. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding standards and school safety protocols.
- Maintain discipline and enforce attendance expectations.
- Conduct internal and external evaluations of teaching environments and school operations.
F. Financial & Administrative Accountability
- Ensure academic programmes support the sustainability and financial health of the school.
- Oversee fee collection processes and ensure strong accountability controls.
- Guide the integration of ICT tools, website management, and automation of school processes.
3. Qualifications & Professional Experience
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or Educational Planning.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in established international Cambridge institutions or comparable academic environments.
- Proven capability in strategic school management, including academic oversight, operational leadership, and staff development.
- Strong track record of managing educational institutions with understanding of organisational sustainability, financial stewardship, and performance-driven culture.
