Barloworld Equipment is the official dealer of the Cat Earthmoving Equipment for construction, power generation, and mining, and genuine Cat Parts with operations in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, and joint ventures in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Barloworld Equipment also holds full ownership of the main dealership on the Iberian Peninsula and joint partnerships in Eastern Russia and Siberia dealerships.
Barloworld Equipment invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant position tenable in Blantyre:
PROCUREMENT OFFICER – BLANTYRE (GG09)
OUTPUTS
- Understanding category strategies and sourcing plans to support their regional execution
- Ensuring a full understanding of regional buying needs
- Identifying future supply and/or demand issues to ensure a proactive and effective response
- Providing intelligence on potential or existing issues on orders, requisitions and delayed deliveries
- Check accuracy of Framework PR data, ensure that Framework PRs spend is signed off by Business.
- Where contracts are not in place, select suppliers by getting quotations or executing the tender process (with support from relevant Category Analysts)
- Negotiate all RFO’s and pricing
- Ensure the savings register is managed, kept and communicated
- Sign off RFO’s, provide guidance on evaluation, manage POs raised daily, weekly and monthly
- Tracking the orders and report on the order status
- Following up with suppliers to ensure correct delivery
- Understanding and keeping up with macro-trends and regulations
- Communicate supply and demand issues with line manager
- Link local end users to sourcing actions to ensure new supply agreements are developed and implemented appropriately. Keep database of new suppliers that are being introduced.
- Proactively manage operational risks and challenges stemming from regions

- Number of days’ reduction in P2P cycle time by plant

REQUIREMENTS OF CANDIDATE:
- Higher Diploma in Purchasing and Supply
- 7 years experience
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork
- BW 5 values
- Safety, literacy levels
