Barloworld Equipment is the official dealer of the Cat Earthmoving Equipment for construction, power generation, and mining, and genuine Cat Parts with operations in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, and joint ventures in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Barloworld Equipment also holds full ownership of the main dealership on the Iberian Peninsula and joint partnerships in Eastern Russia and Siberia dealerships.
Barloworld Equipment invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant position tenable in Blantyre:
FINANCE MANAGER LEVEL 1 -BLANTYRE (GG12)
OUTPUTS
- Preparation and reporting of monthly financial results
- Review of Internal Controls at operational level
- Review of Machines, Service, Parts and MARC
- Profitability
- Control turnover monthly entries
- Report and analyze Warranty expenses and GM policy warranty
- Provide monthly reports to managers on operating expenses
- Provide reports to managers on Motor vehicle expenses (leasing costs and petrol),
- Provide monthly income statement reports to department managers and assist with follow up of variances to business plans as identified
- (Fixed assets, Stock Machines, Parts, WIP, Debtors Machines)
- Attend monthly management meetings and review and report on financial portions
- Assist department managers with the preparation of their Budgets
- Assist with the preparation of Cash Flow forecasts
- Carry out the annual Fixed asset verification,
- Assist with the review and control over Capex spend
- Day-to-day management of Financial team in the region
- Assist with the Quarterly executive review, FM leads this.
- Manage relationships and contracts with suppliers
- Assist with the proper implementation of Regulatory and Statutory governance including VAT
- Liaise with internal/external auditors in those areas of responsibility.
- Manage balance sheet working capital (Stock and Debtors)
REQUIREMENTS OF CANDIDATE
- A Bachelor Degree in Accountancy or in a relevant field.
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Good communication skills across all levels
- Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and registered with ICAM Malawi.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, paying close attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluates options, think and plan strategically and identify needs and pro-actively make improvements.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts
- Team management experience, including leading, engaging and motivating a dynamic team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent deadlines’
- Ability to work with minimal supervision meeting organizational objectives.
