Job Title: Integral Mission Project Officer (2)
Reports to : District Coordinator
Location: Chitipa (1), Salima (1)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the District Coordinator, the Integral Mission Project Officer will be responsible for effective project implementation across the assigned Church Networks (CNs) and coordination across projects being implemented in the Church Empowerment Zone (CEZ). The incumbent will also contribute to promoting the integration of support services in the implementation district. The roles for this position include managing work plans envisaged in interventions in both assigned and across projects, providing technical support to community-level staff, and managing the interface between World Relief Malawi and community governmental and non-governmental structures
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in all spiritual formation initiatives at district level
- Lead spiritual formation initiative at CN level
- Facilitate implementation of project-related plans and budgets in collaboration with promoters, and the District Coordinator
- Lead holistic empowerment of local churches at the CN level
- Coordination of field-level financial and material resources of the project to ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization for all components
- Facilitate collaboration between local churches, community structures, government agencies, focal churches, community structures, government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders
- Guide the establishment of self-initiated and World Relief-initiated ministries to ensure community ownership
- Facilitate the graduation of program participants toward spiritual, social, and economic development development
- Facilitate the establishment of a Church-Network, realistic long-term and short-term plans
- In liaison with the District Coordinator, facilitate quarterly project technical reviews and planning meetings with the promoters
- Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports according to WRM applicable standards.
- Manage financial obligations according to policy
- Maintain close links with the appropriate Government Departments and other organizations (including NGOs) implementing related projects in the district to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication of efforts
- Provide overall supportive supervision of all training events planned in the area of implementation
- Ensure integration of all program activities in the CEZ
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Theology, Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Project Management, Business Administration, or any relevant field from a well-recognized and accredited University or College.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 3 years at the officer level in a busy non-governmental organization
- Demonstrated experience in the development and management of projects with a firm grounding in community mobilization
- Knowledge of relevant processes and systems of multi-sectoral projects
- Practical experience working effectively with government and non-government stakeholders, donors, partners, community leaders, and other organizations’ relationships
- Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic reports
- Experience in financial planning and expenditure monitoring as well as budget management
- Experience in community participation, ownership, and empowerment
- Motorcycle driving license
