VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

GENERAL MANAGER

Carbon Dioxide & Allied Products (Pvt) Limited (CAP) is a company which was incorporated as a limited liability entity under the Malawi Companies Act and is based in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota. The Company is engaged in the production and distribution of Food Grade Liquid Carbon Dioxide and is certified by The Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola Companies including Food Safety System Certitication (FSSC 22000).

The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individual to till the position of General Manager who will drive its growth strategy forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

The General Manager shall be responsible to the Board of Directors for the efficient and effective operations of Carbon Dioxide & Allied Products (Pvt) Limited. The successful candidate shall have overall responsibility for managing and ensuring that the performance of the institution is in line with Policies set by the Board, Quality Assurance Bodies and the relevant Government of Malawi laws.

Specifically, the General Manager shall be responsible for executing the Board’s Strategic Plans including but not limited to the following:

Strategic Leadership

  1. Set a clear vision and strategic direction for the Company in line with its mission.
  2. Guide all departments in preparing and implementing strategic and business plans.
  3. Recommend policies, plans, strategies and budgets for Board approval.
  4. Inspire, motivate and demonstrate strong leadership across the organization.

Financial Performance

  1. Achieve or exceed financial targets and profitability goals.
  2. Implement effective cost control and revenue growth strategies.
  3. Ensure robust financial planning and budget management.

Operations Management

  1. Enhance operational efficiency, productivity and business performance.
  2. Oversee product sales, marketing and distribution.
  3. Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  4. Implement safety, health environment and quality standards.

Stakeholder Management

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board, shareholders and other key stakeholders.
  2. Represent the Company effectively and safeguard stakeholder interests.

Employee Development & Engagement

  1. Promote a culture of learning, innovation and professional growth.
  2. Implement talent management and succession planning strategies.
  3. Provide mentorship, coaching and foster employee engagement.

Innovation & Adaptability

  1. Encourage innovation across the organization.
  2. Adapt to market changes and implement new technologies and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The applicants must possess at a minimum a Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry/ Environmental Science/Food Technology, Biology from recognized institutions, with a minimum of 10 years working experience in a busy Production Institution/Environment of which 5 years must be at a senior management level. Possession of a Master of Business Administration will be an added advantage but not necessarily a prerequisite.

The Ideal candidate for the position must among others:

  1. Have a proven track record of successfully managing a production institution and commercial enterprise in areas of service delivery, project management, financial control and human resource management.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of working with or within a regulated environment.
  3. Be customer focused, goal driven, action oriented, innovative, a sell-starter and a team player.
  4. Have a strong business acumen and entrepreneurial attitude.
  5. Possess strong networking skills to effectively engage with the Company’s stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrate a high level of integrity, sense of maturity and ability to meet strict deadlines.

REMUNERATION

Carbon Dioxide & Allied Products offers a Competitive remuneration package in accordance with its emolument structure.
