Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP)
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public office established under the Political Parties Act of 2018. Its mandate is to register, regulate, monitor and investigate political parties to ensure compliance with the Political Parties Act. In order to fulfil its mandate, the ORPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions tenable at ORPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, as follows:
Job Title: Civic Education Officer (1 Position)
Grade: RP6
Salary: Within the RP6 Scale Segment
Reporting to: Senior Civic Education Officer
Responsible for: None
Purpose of the Job
To provide public education services
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Assisting in Identifying, planning, and developing ORPP’s civic education programs;
- Facilitating civic awareness meetings and outreach activities;
- Producing and disseminating civic education materials;
- Working with relevant stakeholders in delivering civic education programmes
- Providing support in mobilizing resources for the ORPP’s civic education programs.
- Preparing and submitting reports
Core competencies and attributes
- A working knowledge of public engagement models including social media;
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, research and analytical skills;
- Experience in adult training methodologies
- Proven experience in conducting community outreach activities
- A team player with excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills; and Budgeting and proposal writing ability.
- Clear understanding of the legal framework, policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, education, humanities or any other Social Sciences from accredited university
- Experience in a related field
