Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP)

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public office established under the Political Parties Act of 2018. Its mandate is to register, regulate, monitor and investigate political parties to ensure compliance with the Political Parties Act. In order to fulfil its mandate, the ORPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions tenable at ORPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, as follows:

Job Title: Investigations Officer (2 Positions)
Grade: RP6
Salary: Within the RP Scale Segment
Reporting to: Senior Investigations Officer RPS

Purpose of the Job

To provide investigations services

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Collecting information on complaints and suspected political parties misconduct;
  2. Receiving and documenting complaints
  3. Preparing investigation work plans;
  4. Investigating complaints on violations of the Political Parties Act;
  5. Preparing and compiling case file
  6. Producing timely and high quality investigations reports;
  7. Preparing cases for prosecution or administrative proceedings in liaison with the legal section and other law enforcement agencies;
  8. Attending court sessions as a witness or to present evidence as may be required.
  9. Analysing and reviewing patterns and trends of political parties misconduct;
  10. Maintaining detailed case files and documentation, ensuring all investigations materials are safe, secure, accurate, and accessible.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, Social Sciences or any Law enforcement Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Experience in any investigation function
