Office of the Registrar of Political Parties
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public office established under the Political Parties Act of 2018. Its mandate is to register, regulate, monitor and investigate political parties to ensure compliance with the Political Parties Act. In order to fulfil its mandate, the ORPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions tenable at ORPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, as follows:
Job Title: Chief Registration and Compliance Officer (1 Position)
Grade: RP3
Reporting to: Registration and Compliance Service Manager
Salary: Within the RP3 Scale Segment
Purpose of the Job
To oversee Registration and Compliance Services
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitoring and implementing political parties’ registration processes
- Developing and reviewing registration systems
- Overseeing political parties audits and inspections
- Leading and implementing risk assessments related to compliance.
- Enforcing adherence to registration policies, standards and procedures
- Receiving and attending to complaints from clients relating to registration issues
- Overseeing and facilitating civic education and awareness programs
- Preparing and submitting reports
- Allocating work and appraising junior staff
Minimum Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in either Law, Public Administration, Political Science, or any Social Sciences related field from an accredited Institution
- Six (6) years of experience in a related field

- Have sufficient knowledge in political systems
- Good leadership and team building skills.
Result-oriented, innovative and a self-starter. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Adequate computer skills especially Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent negotiating and analytical skills; and
- High level of integrity.
