GROUP POSTNATAL AND CHILD CARE PROJECT
Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University will be conducting a 5-year Group Postnatal and Child Care research project in Malawi with funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute for Nursing Research(USA). To facilitate the execution of the research, the project is seeking to engage the services of the following:
PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR (1 POST)
LOCATION
The post is based at KUHeS Blantyre Campus. The incumbent will be required to travel between project sites in Zomba
CONTRACT TYPE
Fixed Term Contract of two years’ renewable on mutual agreement, subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Project Principal Investigators, the main purpose of the job is to provide administrative and financial services to enable the project achieve its goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are some of the key responsibilities of the post:
- Preparing project activity plans;
- Executing general administrative duties that includes but not limited to: fleet and facilities management, procurement and provision of resources for project work;
- Organizing and facilitating training;
- Supervising project staff reporting to him/her;
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports;
- Coordinating and/or writing high quality and timely project reports as specified in project terms and conditions;
- Linking up and liaising with stakeholders on matters of interest to the project;
- Providing support to Principal Investigators (PIs) in designing and executing ‘monitoring and evaluation’ plans for grants and the project in general to ensure that the Project and KUHeS meet the project’s technical and financial reporting schedules;
- Reviewing existing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), grants management procedures, budget and expenditure plans and contracts with funding agencies or service providers to ensure that they are consistent with KUHeS policies, project terms and funders’ specifications;
- Providing financial and accounting services for the project;
- Preparing project budget; monitoring and controlling project budget implementation;
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor of Business Administration or related degree from an accredited institution
- At least two years’ work experience in accounting, general and project administration or
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a diversity of personalities;
- Computer literate;
- A self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
