VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be considered for the position of Training Officer.

1. Job specifications

Position: Training Officer
Grade: E
Duty Station: Blantyre
Reporting to: Director of Education & Training (DET)

2. Overall Aim:
Co-ordinates the management and administration of Initial Professional Development and maintenance of quality in teaching & learning.

3. Specific Objectives:

The specific objectives of the Training Officer are:

• Lead the successful development and management of ICAM Professional Qualification (PQ).
• Assist in the development and revision of syllabuses and learning materials.
• Manage work experience arrangements, including the Authorized Training Employer (ATE) scheme.
• Manage ethical training and initial professional development schemes.
• Assist in the successful development and management of ICAM examinations.
• Manage relationships with tuition providers.
• Contribute to ICAM’s training strategy and implement the same on behalf of Council.
• Take responsibility for the training budget.
• Manage the Practical Work Experience Training and maintain the accountancy student register based on enrolment numbers from accredited learning institutions in Malawi.
• Support tuition providers with internal reviews and development planning and be able to provide effective feedback to facilitate improvement.
• Contribute to the implementation of Initial Professional Development (IPD).
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

4. Qualifications and experience

• A degree in education with at least 3 years’ work experience.
• A qualification in accounting is an added advantage.
