Consumer Lending Analyst, Group

Role Overview

  • The Consumer Lending Analyst, Group, reporting to the Senior Consumer Lending Manager, Group, oversees consumer lending performance, ensuring revenue growth, loan book management, and regulatory compliance. The role enhances system efficiency, analyzes business performance, manages risks, and collaborates with stakeholders to drive profitability and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Management Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare and present various reports to management and board committees and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to visualize data and track key metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Risk and Operations to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
  • Deliver reporting packs and support financial risk monitoring, focusing on credit risk and budget targets.
  • Maintain economic and industry databases, tracking trends and regulatory impact.

Credit Risk Management

  • Monitor credit portfolios and drive analytics for risk assessment and impairment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with credit risk regulations and internal controls.
  • Assist with forecasting, policy development, and closure of audit findings.
  • Work with credit teams to identify and address gaps in lending portfolio management.
  • Oversee risk model governance, documentation, and ongoing performance monitoring.

Reconciliation & Process Improvement

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of GLs and loan systems, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee reconciliation processes across all systems, including ERP and Dynamics.
  • Investigate and address gaps in reconciliation to prevent fraud and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead or support process improvements to enhance financial reporting and control.

Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts, principles and standards such as IFRS 9.
  • Great customer service and collaboration /teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficient in Excel and or other financial modelling and data analytics tools,
  • Excellent in Power BI, Visio and other graphic visualization tools
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Programming knowledge an added advantage

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Risk Management or related areas
  • At least five years’ experience in financial services, or retail banking environment and knowledge of retail loans and Micro lending
