VACANCY – SECURITY OFFICER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of SECURITY OFFICER at AHL Tobacco Sales Limited, a subsidiary of AHL Group PLC. The position is tenable at the Company’s Head Office in Lilongwe.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Planning daily activities of security guards
  2. Supervising security guards and closely monitoring their performance
  3. Monitoring attendance and general discipline of security guards
  4. Controlling people and vehicles entering and leaving AHL Group premises
  5. Ensuring 24-hour surveillance of company premises
  6. Conducting surprise patrols to monitor alertness of security guards deployed during day time and at night
  7. Attending to queries on all security issues
  8. Assisting in developing security policies of the company
  9. Working in liaison with various stakeholders such as the Malawi Police Service on all matters of general security
  10. Detecting and investigating any criminal acts such as theft, bribery and corruption
  11. Advising Management on better ways of storing, managing and securing company property.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Diploma in Security Services / Security Management/ Business Administration or any other relevant qualifications obtained from a reputable learning institution
  • MSCE plus a Certificate in Security Services obtained from a reputable learning institution

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE

The prospective job candidate must have the following attributes;

  • Must have worked as a Police Officer/ Army Officer/Security Officer with not less than 5 years’ experience
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Mature person with high level of confidentiality and integrity knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements is desirable
