RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB PURPOSE
This function is expected to act as the representative for business, technical and functional requirements in the operating region of RAN, Transmission and Passive Network systems (2G, 3G, LTE and Transmission support). The function will operate to meet premium service level agreements and ensure NW availability and Performance that meets set KPIs; The function will define the optimal operations of the Network Elements and Systems in the Region with an aim to offer an enhanced service and quality to Airtel’s subscribers.
RAN/Transmission/OSS Operations to ensure Uninterrupted voice, data & enterprise service delivery in the operating region
Ensure all Operational activities are done within defined process of TT Management, Change Management, Preventive Maintenance, Incident Management, problem Management, Software update management, Security Management, Performance Management.
- Carry out Preventive checks & Periodic audit procedures and support in troubleshooting outages
- Minimize MTTR by reviewing Incidents (Problem Management)
- CSR Management with Field Operations Vendors and ensure delivery within SLA
- Provide 2nd line operations & optimization support for the region
- Managing high availability of Fiber Network and conducting partner reviews
- Ensure resolution of customer complaints within SLAs in the region with support from NPO Team
- Ensure all AMC with Operations Partners are regularly reviewed and support is in place
- Fully support the implementation of RAN and Transmission projects as per Annual Operating Program (AOP) guidelines and Group projects for the region
- Facilitate RAN or Passive upgrade projects for the sites in the region
- Facilitate project acceptance process for the region
Detailed and Effective Documentation.
- Ensure that the operations and projects related documentation reflects a fit-for-purpose design and compiles with the contractual vendor requirements.
- Ensure all site documentation are stored properly at sites with Unique ID and Version plus regularly updating and pertaining to:
- Site Acceptance Documents/As Build Document copies Fuel delivery coupons Site access log books
- Operational Docs & report: Change Management, Fault Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Software Management etc.
- Features & Licenses for RAN nodes in the Region
- AMC, Support Documents – including monthly signoff for RAN and Transmission
Capacity planning inputs for RAN, TX and Passive Infrastructure
- Provides inputs to planning team to perform adequate dimensioning of the Network Elements and Systems in accordance with Network Growth & Projections for the Region
- Dimensioning RAN and its related support of Passive Infrastructure
- Periodic review and make recommendations for FLM resource mapping in line with Network growth plans
- Planning sites for site sharing capacity so that it can accommodate the new tenants
Employee Engagement
- Provide overall leadership for the FLM Partner Teams for the region
- Hold necessary meetings with stakeholders where/when required.
- Maintain high FLM Team Harmony and Engagement at all times with both internal and external teams and stakeholders.
Vendor/Partner Management
- Ensuring that the Passive and Active MS partners deliver the service level to the high quality expected first time right.
- Managing all network expansion activities in the region ranging from Passive, RAN and Transmission
- Carryout monthly review and signoffs for MS actities
Time management
- Prioritize self-workload as required to meet the fluctuating demands of business and requirements from other stakeholders.

- Annual budgets, opex, capex, annual revenue
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical & Electronics, or related fields )
- Sound knowledge of Mobile Network Operations and Maintenance
- Analytical and Presentation skills
- Leadership skills
Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
- 5-7 years of varied experience in implementation, operation and maintenance in the Telecom industry
- 3 years of experience in a GSM/mobile company
- At least 2 years of second line experience in an area of network RAN operations
Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)
