RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview
Airtel Malawi is seeking a dynamic, creative, and data-driven Digital & Social Media Executive to elevate our online presence and deepen engagement with our customers and communities. This role is pivotal in driving brand storytelling, campaign amplification, and real-time engagement across digital platforms. To be part of a purpose-driven team that champions innovation, inclusion, and impact and the role reports to Head of Brand & Communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Scheduling: Develop and publish engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok)
- Maintain content calendars aligned with brand campaigns and other initiatives
- Write compelling captions and short-form copy in Airtel’s tone of voice
- Community Engagement & Listening: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions with empathy and speed
- Escalate customer queries and sentiment trends to relevant teams
- Foster positive brand conversations and influencer interactions
- Campaign Support & Amplification: Collaborate with internal teams and agencies to amplify product launches, sponsorships, and activations
- Support paid social campaigns with asset uploads, QA, and performance tracking
- Flag digital trends and platform updates to inform strategy
- Analytics & Reporting: Track KPIs including reach, engagement, follower growth, and sentiment
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights
- Recommend optimizations based on data and audience behaviour
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field
- 2–4 years’ experience in digital marketing or social media management
- Proficiency in tools like Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, and native analytics
- Strong copywriting and visual storytelling skills
- Understanding of digital KPIs, content calendars, and campaign workflows
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced environments
- Passion for community engagement, brand purpose, and digital innovation
