Senior Manager Commercial Sales

Job Purpose

To plan, monitor and ensure achievement of customer and revenue market share objectives set for regional operations by supervising/influencing multiple teams to deliver operational excellence in customer service, channel management and distribution expansion.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identifies and formulates regional sales strategies based on the overall business strategy.
  • Drives quality gross additions: GSM, DATA/HBB, MPAMBA and any other subscriber KPIs assigned.
  • Manages churn, revenue growth, minutes of use and Mpamba transactions in the region per cluster.
  • Drives primary sales and availability of Mpamba E-value in every cluster by:
    • Implementing distribution targets per site and per cluster.
    • Implementing the audit and review of channel partners & distributors to ensure they have a healthy Return on Investment.
    • Identifying and formulating regional strategies to drive distribution infrastructure expansion, which includes branches and Kiosks.
    • Continuously motivating the front-line employees through leadership by examples and drive for results.
    • Conducts market or trade audits to identify and correct gaps in the trade.
  • Drives market visibility through trade marketing activities.
  • Identifies and develops business cases for new coverage areas, conducts site or market dimensioning to determine infrastructure requirements and conducts quality checks after site commissioning.
  • Prepares and submits relevant Regional Operations reports and provides input to the Sales and Distribution BOD pack.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management/Marketing/Business Administration/Commerce or any related qualification.
  • Master of Business Administration is an added advantage.
  • 10+ years of varied experience in Sales & Marketing with at least 2 years at middle management level handling independent businesses.
  • Relevant experience in telecom industry.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Sound understanding of sales systems and process.
  • Creative self-starter with sound consumer knowledge.
