VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions tenable in the Human Resource and Administration Department of Southern Region Water Board at Head Office in Zomba.
SECURITY SUPERVISOR
Candidates should have a Diploma in Security Studies, plus at least six months military or police training with at least 3 years’ experience in a military or police environment.
Reporting to the Security Executive, the Security Supervisor will provide security services to the Board.
She/he shall be responsible for; initiating new security measures and advancements in line with the Board’s requirements; ensuring security of all Board’s property and premises; controlling and supervising hired (outsourced) security guards through the security supervisor of the contracted service provider and ensuring that discipline is upheld; implementing security strategies and monitoring performance of the same; facilitating contracting out of hiring security for the Board by regularly checking on contract period; investigating and reporting incidents such as thefts, illegal activities etc; preparing incident, monthly and situational reports in liaison with Security Executive; monitoring the operations and scheduling of hired security personnel; ensuring that all security infrastructures/gadgets such as alarms and CCTV cameras are in good working condition; enforcing organizational Safety and security guidelines; ensuring that firearms and ammunitions are properly managed and accounted for; and demonstrating outstanding commitment to service delivery programs of the Board by personally identifying and reporting water bursts/leakages to customer care Division of which verifiable repair records shall be tendered to be used as one of the components for assessment during one’s performance appraisal time.
The successful candidate shall possess good investigative report writing skills, demonstrate leadership skills and be a team player, have good communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must also be able to work under pressure and during odd hours, work under minimum supervision and have good organizing skills.
