POST : SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER (GRADE TI)

SALARY: Within Grade TI salary scale segment
LOCATION: Various Secondary Schools within Malawi

QUALIFICATION

Applicants must be serving Primary School Teachers holding a Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) from accredited institutions;

OR

Secondary School Teachers at Grade TJ holding a Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) from accredited institutions;

Serving Secondary School Teachers at Grade TJ with a minimum of four (4) years’ teaching experience at that grade;

OR

Non – serving applicants holding a Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained from accredited institutions.

Applications should be in any of the following disciplines: – Humanities, Sciences, Technical Subjects (Technical Drawing, Metal Work, Wood Work, Clothing & Textiles), Languages, Creative & Performing Arts, and Special Needs Education. The applicants must be registered teachers with the Teaching Council of Malawi.

JOB PURPOSE

To teach, mentor and help students to achieve their highest potential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will carry out the following duties:-

  1. Identify and prepare learning and teaching materials;
  2. Devise methods and resources of teaching and assessing students;
  3. Create and maintain a conducive teaching and learning environment;
  4. Prepare, mark tests and maintain all classroom records; and
  5. Attend to all school activities as may be required.
