General Manager

Location: Simama Hotel, Lilongwe
Reports to: Managing Director
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The General Manager (GM) will lead the overall operations, strategic direction, and guest experience of Simama Hotel.

The GM will act as the face of the brand, drive financial performance, uphold the highest service standards, and foster an empowered, service driven team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day hotel operations ensuring alignment with Simama’s brand and service expectations.
  • Guide departmental heads through performance metrics and strategic planning.
  • Drive financial goals: manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    Promote excellence in guest satisfaction, manage feedback, and enhance reputation.
  • Develop business opportunities and oversee marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, labor, environmental, and legal standards.
  • Build a strong organizational culture through effective people management, training, and retention.

Prerequisites & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • 10-15 years’ leadership experience in hospitality, ideally within luxury or 4/5-star hotels.
  • Proven expertise In operational strategy, financial management, and service delivery.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High integrity and cultural sensitivity
