Floresta in Malawi is a Christian organisation registered (TRN-LDSBBB) on 19th May 2023 and is a member of the Plant With Purpose Global Partnership. Floresta began its work in 2023 by targeting a few key watersheds in the Viphya Plateau region of northern Malawi because of its steep terrain, deforestation, and level of poverty.
The heart of Floresta’s mission is restoring relationships-between people and the planet, between people and one another, and between people and the Creator. PROCUREMENT, SUPPLY CHAIN, LOGISTICS, AND PROGRAM SUPPORT INTERN
Brief Job Summary
Reports to : HR and Administration Officer
Duration: 10 months
Job Purpose Summary
Ensure that the goods and services bought are:
- Of the best quality
- Cost-effective
- Delivered at the right time, right place, and in the right quantity
- Within the set budget.
Key Duties
- Procurement Planning – Work with department heads to plan annual procurement needs and quality specifications to get value and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Procurement Administration – Coordinate routine procurement processing of all administration and operational requirements for goods and services using best industry practices. This will include, but not be limited to, facilitating the Intemal Purchase Committee meetings, requisition booking, quotation appraisal and negotiations, preparing purchase orders, arranging receipt and storage of goods, and delivery to the required destination.
- Documentation Administration – Document movement of goods from suppliers and the head office to program sites and operational areas.
- Supply Payment Administration – Timely processing of documents for payment approval to suppliers that have successfully fulfilled their obligations.
- Transport Administration – Assist in logistics for meetings and travel arrangements.
Registration of reputable transporters/car hire companies for material deliveries and other transport needs, benchmarking them for performance and cost efficiency. - Delegated Duties – Perform any other duties that management may assign from time to time.
Requirements
- Recent graduate in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Basic computer skills (Word & Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn and maintain confidentiality.
