Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences ECOHS is a CHAM institution whose proprietor is the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. It aims at training Health care workers within Christian Principles and Professional Ethics. The College strives to promote a conducive educational environment in order to wishes to fill the existing vacant position in the academic section. Therefore, Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences invites suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions;

ACADEMIC SECTION

Positions: Clinical Instructor (Grade K- full time)

Reports to: Skills Laboratory Coordinator

Requirements

  1. Any of the following qualifications; University Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery or Diploma in Pharmacy or Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
  2. Registered with the relevant regulatory body (Medical Council of Malawi, or Pharmacy and Medicine Regulatory Authority or Nurses and Midwife Council of Malawi) and have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a busy hospital.
  3. Be matured and committed Christians

Job Purpose

To facilitate student’s learning, preparing the individual to become a qualified and competent health practitioner. This is accomplished by establishing a conducive practical environment to the professional and personal growth of each student. The instructor will correlate and integrate practice with theory.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach students as assigned by the appropriate officers
  2. Assist in preparing and filing of the course outlines for new and revised courses and follow such guides for courses already established
  3. Assist in preparing and filing of the bibliography of library books required for use in each clinical course
  4. Assist in preparing requests for instructional materials, such as books, maps, audio visual aids, and supplies.
  5. Assist in managing students’ records and submitting students’ attendance and grades to the Head of Section
  6. Attend faculty meetings
  7. Be available at appropriate times to advise students;
  8. Evaluate student learning outcomes via written exams. Other evaluation methods may include written assignments such as pop quizzes, papers, homework, return demonstration, and presentations.
  9. Assume responsibility for enforcing College rules and regulations as related to student conduct
  10. Select appropriate clinical experiences to enable students to fulfill objectives.
  11. Conduct on going and final evaluation conference with each assigned student including care plans.
  12. Prepare students for clinical area through skills lab demonstrations.
  13. Perform any other work related assignments.
