Job Title: Operations Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead and oversee the Workshop Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of all workshop operations, including maintenance, repairs, compliance, staff supervision, and continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, proven leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset focused on operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the truck workshop, ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor workshop personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve productivity and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards, including vehicle inspections and certifications.
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and procurement of workshop tools, parts, and equipment.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPls), ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Liaise with other departments (logistics and procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely documentation and maintenance of accurate service and repair records.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and compliance regulations relevant to truck maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in workshop operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and leading high-performing workshop environments.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficient in workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
