CARGO PORTER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Cargo Porter Grade AC11 (2 positions) tenable at Kamuzu International Airport, Lilongwe. Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and attributes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES

  1. MSCE with credits in English and Mathematics
  2. Good interpersonal skills
  3. Reliable, Self-starter and mature in judgment
  4. Smart and presentable
  5. Without criminal record
  6. Honest with sober and high moral/ social integrity
  7. Solution oriented
  8. Able to communicate fluently in English
  9. Physically fit and with good health record
  10. Accept to stay close to the workplace

Duties will include:

  • Offload cargo from pallets/containers/trolleys and places packages in appropriate locations
  • Stow empty pallets and containers in appropriate locations.
  • Collect cargo from warehouse for customs examination and delivery
  • Load export shipments into Unit Load Devices, trolleys and other devices as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Clean warehouse, offices, Unit Load Devices and other equipment as assigned
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
