PATCH AND VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Network and Information Security in the Information Services Division, the Patch and Vulnerability Management Specialist shall perform assessments of applications, systems, and networks within the TNM IT environment, identifying deviations from acceptable configurations, policies, or regulatory requirements. This role measures the effectiveness of Defense-in-Depth (DiD) architecture against known vulnerabilities and ensures proactive mitigation.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conduct security reviews across the TNM IT environment.
  • Manage and operate patch management tools.
  • Develop checklists/playbooks for mitigating common vulnerabilities.
  • Perform technical and non-technical risk assessments (e.g., Telco, network infrastructure, applications).
  • Review audit/vulnerability data to prioritize patching based on risk and impact.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the SDLC (requirements, design, code, security reviews).
  • Perform internal penetration testing and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF).

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Experience:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, ITIL, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency in patch management tools and vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
  • Understanding of ethical hacking principles.
