The National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) is a statutory organization established by the Water Resources Act of 2013 with a specific function to regulate and manage water resources. Furthermore, the NWRA seeks to ensure the sustainable use of water resources and address the water resources planning, development, and management challenges. In its effort to sustainably manage water resources, the NWRA seeks to recruit additional members of staff for Non-Established positions tenable at the Kamuzu Barrage. In this regard, NWRA invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions:

Job Title: Driver (Heavy Goods Motor Vehicle) (3)

Grade: NW 7
Location : Liwonde
Reporting to : Kamuzu Barrage Manager

Purpose of the Job

Effectively dispose of weeds harvested from the weed boom at Kamuzu Barrage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Drive/operate dump trucks (tippers)
  2. Ensure that logbooks are properly maintained for each trip, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing
  3. Coordinating maintenance schedule and insurance for vehicles and informing administration when renewal is due.
  4. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s licence of code C with PrDP G, backed by five (5) years’ experience
  • Experience in dump truck (tipper) operation
  • Good eyesight and must be physically fit
  • Must have no criminal record.
