The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Malawi. Its core business is to procure, transmit and distribute electric power in Malawi as well as manage System Market Operations and Single Buyer in Malawi.
ESCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions currently existing in the Optic Fiber Directorate of the Corporation.
Senior Sales and Marketing Officer (1 Position)
Grade: ES6
Location: Blantyre
Supervised by: Chief Sales and Marketing Officer
Purpose of the Job
To generate revenue growth and sales strategies, manage relationships with customers, identify new business possibilities, close deals, and guarantee client satisfaction in order to meet business sales targets.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Identifying new business opportunities and target markets for growth.
- Conducting market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Leading the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closing deals.
- Negotiating contracts and agreements to secure profitable deals.
- Managing and mentoring a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team targets.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the sales team.
- Tracking sales performance against targets and providing regular reports to Management.
- Coordinating with finance to ensure accurate pricing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
- Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups and support.
- Developing customer loyalty programs to enhance retention and repeat business.

- Skilled in negotiating deals and successfully closing sales.
- Deep understanding of customer needs with a strong commitment to delivering value.
- Uses sales data and market trends for strategic decisions, coupled with excellent communication skills for both internal and external collaboration
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in either Marketing, Customer Services, Business Administration or Engineering
- 4 Years relevant work experience
- Registered with CIM
