The Role
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary General Manager (GM) to lead MM through its next stage of growth. Based in Salima, the GM will oversee the integration and performance of all business functions-Primary Production (Agriculture & Outreach), Factory Operations, Logistics, IT, HR, Finance, and Procurement. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multi functional business operations across primary agricultural (own farms and outreach) production, secondary processing, logistics and support functions
- Develop and deliver long-term business plans, annual budgets, and financial reports
- Drive cost efficiencies, operational integration, and continuous improvement across units
- Provide actionable insights to the Board through regular operational and financial reporting
- Manage senior leaders and business units to deliver against KPIs and ensure alignment with strategic goals
- Coordinate and facilitate funding with investors and development partners
Oversee external certifications, audits, and stakeholder engagement - Build a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and innovation across the organisation
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- Minimum 15 years’ senior leadership experience in an internationally integrated agribusiness, specifically in tropical fruit and tree crops
- Proven track record in agricultural operations, fast moving secondary production and tropical fruit processing, quality management systems, financial management, and strategic execution
- Experience living and working in rural or remote regions of Africa or similar emerging markets
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Resilience, resourcefulness, and a collaborative leadership style
