Senior Credit Manager, Group
- We are Looking for an experienced credit professional with a sharp eye for credit quality, strategic risk insight, and the ability to work across markets. This role presents a unique opportunity to work across our regional footprint – providing strategic credit risk support, driving high-quality lending standards, and contributing to the Group’s risk appetite execution.
- Reporting to the Group Head of Risk, the Senior Credit Manager will support the delivery of effective wholesale credit risk management, contribute to the structuring and sanctioning of wholesale asset transactions, and provide credit intelligence, direction, and policy input across the Group. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with country-level Credit Risk and Business teams to identify credit opportunities, advise on risk structuring, and drive forward-looking, insight-led decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Oversight & Portfolio Management
- Drive robust wholesale credit risk oversight and lending discipline across the Group.
- Lead or support the structuring and sanctioning of wholesale asset transactions.
- Provide expert advice, credit information, and help shape Group credit risk policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of lending activities through predictive management information.
- Promote and apply best practices to maintain optimal portfolio quality.
Coaching & Collaboration
- Lead lessons-learned sessions and promote cross-Functional learning.
- Contribute to strategic projects, audits, and credit risk reviews.
- Act as a technical coach to business and credit teams
Operations & Governance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal risk frameworks, and governance practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:
- Understanding credit risk mitigation and wholesale business financing mechanisms
- Strong and in-depth understanding loan underwriting, financial analysis, business analysis, product knowledge, risk control, and portfolio management.
- Broad understanding of banking operations, risk policies, and local/regional regulations.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (ACIB, FRM, CA, CFA) are an added advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in wholesale credit assessment and approvals.
