
Blantyre Water Board
Blantyre Water Board is a government-owned institution established and reconstituted under the Waterworks Act of 1995 to supply potable water to people of Blantyre City and other surrounding areas. The Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant position of FLEET MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR.
Applicants must have the following attributes:
- At least a Diploma in Automobile Engineering/Fleet Management/Transport and Logistics or related field
- At least 2 years practical work experience in fleet management and maintenance in a reputable organization
- Leadership skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Self-starter
- Effective communication
- Ability to work under pressure and during odd hours
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Computer skills
The successful applicant will be responsible for:-
- Monitoring the real-time location, status, and condition of vehicles using available tracking technologies.
- Coordinating and managing regular vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, and ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition.
- Coordinating the day-to-day activities of the fleet, including vehicle scheduling, dispatching, and tracking.
- Monitoring and controlling fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
- Evaluating fleet performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend changes to optimize efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate records of vehicle usage and maintenance.
- Supervising and directing the activities of assigned staff.
- Performing any other duties relevant to the post.
