
Deposit Insurance Corporation (DIC)
On behalf of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (DIC), the Reserve Bank of Malawi invites applications for the following positions, based in Blantyre, on a contract basis of up to two (2) years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. The DIC commenced operations on 1st October 2023. It is mandated to implement and manage a deposit insurance scheme in Malawi, in accordance with the Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 2022. SENIOR ACCOUNTS OFFICER (1 POSITION)
Reporting to: Supervisor, Finance and Administration
Role Purpose
The Senior Accounts Officer will play a pivotal role in enhancing the financial integrity and performance of the DIC. This position is responsible for financial management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, optimizing cost structures, and implementing robust financial processes to support the DIC’s objectives.

- Costing and financial performance analysis
- Financial planning and operational efficiency
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need to Demonstrate:
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Understanding and application of the Malawi Taxation system
- Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and computer-based financial systems
- Ability to think critically and strategically about financial management.
- Problem-solving skills
- Planning and organizational skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
Experience and Educational background
- ACCA or CIMA or ICAM professional qualification with two years relevant experience; OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy Plus three years relevant experience
- Must be between 25 and 35 years of age
